The Feather Tree

In The Feather Tree, the ghosts of two murdered girls swirl around Elmer "Goody" Goodson's remote cabin in Pittsley Woods, seeming to implore the recluse to some action. Are they real? What do they want of him? Is he crazy? The story begins with the disappearance and murder of young Donna Quint. She is the second ghost in Goody's garden, the first being that of another young girl killed several years earlier. Because Goody's ancestry is Cape Verdean and Native American, he has no problem in communing with things both animate and inanimate. But this is different. He's never seen ghosts before.
