Dark days are looming for the Ferriston family at Green Willow house. Tom and his younger brother Charlie will be battling evil forces again, entering the mystical dimensions of Glencyndal through the portals of ancient paintings!

At the village school, disturbing events cause disruption and havoc - children become ill with a sickness bug, the Head Teacher threatens to cancel Christmas, and an unsavoury temporary teacher and caretaker are not what they seem... At Green Willow, lumps of ceiling plaster fall down revealing paintings of swans - and real feathers inexplicably start falling down! Who painted the swans? What on earth's going on?

Sensing catastrophic danger, the brothers summon Geschwind, Grand Master of Magicians, in their race to outwit those evil Shape Shifters, and the most terrifying creature of all - Nhiamar the Bringer of Nightmares, the Tormentor and Destroyer... and then there's Skadmeer!
